After the release of 2 country singles, 22 year old Devin Cooper wanted to share a side of him not many people have ever seen. A side that shows where his roots are deeply planted, and where he still draws inspiration from; the blues. "Back in December we spent a day at http://oclstudios.com playing a very intimate show. This was the first time we had ever done something like this. It was a chance for the audience to experience what it is like to be in a studio during the recording process. We packed 50 people into the room with us and gave everyone a set of headphones. We recorded 5 songs "live off the floor" and it turned out better that we could have imagined… There was something special about having all that energy in one little room. For this year’s Canadian Music Class Challenge, CAA High School students had the opportunity to spend a day at OCL Studios learning about live-off-the-floor recording and audio production as part of their Music & Technology curriculum module. We managed to record a couple of tunes while we were there, but this performance of Sloan’s “The Rest of My Life” captured the fun and energy of our day in-studio the most. Special thanks to Josie and Josh for helping us look and sound our best!
