F.A.Q.
Do you have hourly rates?
We don't do hourly rates. We have two reasons: one, we are outside the city and driving half an hour to work for an hour doesn't make sense. And two, we really don't want to rush things. We want the chance to meet you and chat with you and get to know what you want from your project. We find the end result is a lot better than if we were to just hit record as soon as you walk through the door. So, instead, we have a full day rate, and a half day rate.
What counts as a day?
We generally say a 'day' is eight hours and a 'half day' is four hours.
What is included in the day rate?
The day rate includes the engineer and whatever gear we have here. The full day rate includes accommodations. There are no hidden costs.
I am an engineer. Can I run the session myself?
Absolutely! We will just have our assistant engineer there to assist you and help you get acquainted with the room.
I want to do my bed tracks in Studio A, but I want to mix myself. What do I do?
The easiest thing to do is bring a hard-drive with you to your session. That way, when everything is done, we can transfer everything over to your drive. Just make sure that the drive is formatted for Mac.
How much does it cost to stay?
If you book a full day, it doesn't cost anything extra to stay.
I want to stay in the rooms when I record. Do I need to bring my own bedding/towels/dishes/etc.?
We're a residential recording studio. The only thing you need to bring is yourself and the food you want to eat. Everything else we have covered.
