CCMA Lead Up: Week Two
FIVE WEEKS TO GO
In five weeks, we will be hopping onto a plane and heading to the 2017 Canadian Country Music Awards in Saskatoon, SK. For the next few weeks, we're going to share one of the Canadian country artists we've had the pleasure of working with this year.
The Dungarees have had a phenomenal year. After being selected as one of the Project Wild Artist Development Top 12, The Dungarees went on to win the whole thing and take home the top prize of $100,000. With this investment, they were able to bring award winning producer, Paul Worley, and engineer Nick Worley in from Nashville, TN to record and produce their new album.
On stage, they've had an exciting year opening for Alabama at the Scotiabank Saddledome, headlining an evening at Nashville North, and performing at Dauphin Country Fest, Centrefield Music Fest, Caven Country Jamboree, and many more festivals later this summer.
They recieved Canadian Country Music Award First Ballot nominations for Roots Artist of the Year and Songwriters of the Year, as well as All-Star Band noms for James (bass), Kiron (guitar), Ben (drums), and Darrek (steel).
While the Project Wild program requires all participants to complete a fundraising or community enhancing project, The Dungarees went above and beyond when they hosted a 24-hour music marathon at Yellowhead Brewery in Edmonton which saw over $10,000 raised for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Their latest single, Anywhere With You, was released on Friday and was in the Top 5 DMDS download for the week. You can check out the video below!
